Spend an evening sipping wine and Highgrain Brewing Co. craft beer amid our gorgeous sunflower fields while enjoying delicious hors d'oeuvres. Our Burwinkel Farms hayride will take you from our farm market to our pumpkin and sunflower fields where you will enjoy gourmet appetizers, live music by The Mad River Band, sips in sunflowers, a silent auction, and splendid evening views. Featured hors d’oeuvres will include seasonal local produce prepared by the culinary talent of Chef Christian Ireland from the kitchen of Highgrain Brewing Co. The best part of all, we will be raising money to support the local EB Hope Foundation, a group dedicated to finding a path to a cure for Epidermolysis bullosa. 100% of proceeds will go to the EB Hope Foundation!
Epidermolysis bullosa--"The Worst Disease You've Never Heard Of." Epidermolysis Bullosa, or EB, is a rare genetic connective tissue disorder (both internal and external) with all variations of the disease sharing the prominent symptom of extremely fragile skin that blisters and tears from minor friction or trauma. Those born with EB are often called “Butterfly Children” because as the analogy goes, their skin is as fragile as the wings of a butterfly. EB is always painful, often pervasive and debilitating, and is in some cases lethal before the age of 30. Daily wound care, pain management, and protective bandaging are currently the only options available for people with EB. For more information on EB, please visit Debra of America .
